Evelyn "Evie" Serier, age 84, of Baldwin, Wis., died peacefully Sunday, Nov. 20, at the Baldwin Care Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Evelyn "Evie" Serier, age 84, of Baldwin, Wis., died peacefully Sunday, Nov. 20, at the Baldwin Care Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Evie was born on July 28, 1927, in Hudson, Wis., the daughter of Grover and Florence (VanSomeren) Frazier. She graduated from Hudson High School in 1945 and went on to Brown and Bigelow in St. Paul for 2 years doing factory work. On May 31, 1947, she was united in marriage to Russell Serier "The Milkman" of Baldwin at the First Presbyterian Church in Hudson. Their marriage was blessed with one daughter, Beth, and one son, Jeff.
Evie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was active at one time with the Baldwin Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels, and Presbyterian Women's Fellowship. She loved working with her flowers, plants, and gardening with her husband, Russ. She also enjoyed reading. Very seldom did she miss a Packer game. Most importantly, she kept a great home for her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Russ, and their two children, Beth Menzel and her husband, Charles, of Green Bay, Jeff Serier of Baldwin; beloved granddaughters, Rebecca (Jeremy) Leischner, Jessica (Jeff) Miskell; sisters, Jean Behm and Lorraine (Jim) Steel, both of Hudson, Barbara (Don) Gillis of La Crosse; as well as many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law Myron Anderson and Art Behm.
A memorial service for Evie Serier will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at the First Presbyterian Church in Baldwin. Burial will be in the Baldwin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. time of service. Memorials will be used in her memory.
Funeral services entrusted to the O'Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory of Baldwin.
