Sarah "Sally" Theresa Pettee, age 69, of Hudson, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Dec. 3.

Sarah "Sally" Theresa Pettee, age 69, of Hudson, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Dec. 3.

Sally was born Sept. 8, 1942, in Galway, Ireland, to Peter and Julia Kelly. She spent her childhood in Ireland. Sally was united in marriage to Leon Pettee on May 14, 1963, in Lakeland, Minn. Their marriage blessed them with four children and a stepdaughter.

Sally was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent her years taking care of her home and family and cherished her time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed baking, traveling, and reading the weekly newspaper.

Sally is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Leon; daughters, Pamela Pettee of St. Paul and Heather (David) Bearl of Hudson; sons, Shawn (Maureen) Pettee of Hudson and Scott (Michelle) Pettee of New Richmond; stepdaughter, Cynthia (Chris) Erickson of Woodbury; nine grandchildren; several brothers and sisters in Ireland and England; and close sister, Mary Monson of St. Paul.

She was preceded in death by granddaughter Selah Bearl.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 4-7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. memorial service, Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, with Pastor Roy Fruits officiating. Interment will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at Willow River Cemetery in Hudson. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
