Iva B. Hohler, age 84, of Hudson, formerly of Clayton, Wis., died on March 13, at the Lutheran Home of River Falls. This comes after a long time battle with Huntington's disease.
Iva B. Hohler, age 84, of Hudson, formerly of Clayton, Wis., died on March 13, at the Lutheran Home of River Falls. This comes after a long time battle with Huntington's disease.
Iva was born on Aug. 15, 1927, to Gilbert and Ella (Johnson) Torgerson in Clayton. She grew up in Clayton and graduated from Clayton High School. Upon graduation, Iva was united in marriage to Henry Hohler. This marriage would be blessed with four children: David, Randy, Steve, and Linda. The Hohler family would eventually move to Hudson and Iva would find work as a waitress at the Oasis in Stillwater, Minn. She would work at the Oasis until her retirement in 1984. It was in 1994 that Henry passed away. Iva would remain in Hudson, close to her friends and family.
Iva was a dedicated Green Bay Packer fan as well as a frequent NASCAR watcher. She enjoyed picnicking, loved chicken, and you could always count on her to order a pizza or two when friends were over. Her favorite times were those spent with her family and friends and she was always excited to have company over for a visit.
Iva is survived by her sons, David (Lynn Colburn) Hohler of Hudson, Randy (Cinda) Hohler of Hudson, and Steve (Audrey Parrish) of Farmington; daughter, Linda Hohler of Hudson; grandchildren, Steve (Lisa) Hohler, Amy (Brad) Briggs, Stacy (fiancé Josh) Hohler, Heather Hohler, Jesse Hohler, Kimberly Hohler, and Jeremy (fiancée Jess) Hohler; sister Ruby Springer of Clayton; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry; companion, Vern; sister Fern; and brother, Milton.
A Celebration of Iva's life will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. Burial will follow at the Marsh Lake Cemetery in Clayton. A time of visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Funeral Home. Memorials given will be donated to the Huntington's Disease Society of America.
