Elsie Christine Bye, age 96, formerly of the Red Cedar Canyon, passed away March 28 at the Christian Community Home of Hudson.

Elsie Christine Bye, age 96, formerly of the Red Cedar Canyon, passed away March 28 at the Christian Community Home of Hudson.

Elsie was born Dec. 13, 1915, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Berhard and Kristine (Krogness) Eide. She attended Horace Mann Elementary and graduated from Central High School in Minneapolis. Elsie was united in marriage Jan. 13, 1938, at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis to Theodore Bye. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Richard and Sheila. Elsie worked as a proof reader with Augsberg Publishing House, tended to the home as a homemaker, and was a scheduler for the Gunderson Medical Clinic.

Elsie enjoyed the quiet of her needlework. She was involved with the Women's Circle at Bethel Lutheran Church and enjoyed hosting events for her family and friends. Elsie was 100% Norwegian and was very proud of her Norwegian heritage. She cherished her family and was a proud grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

She will remain in the hearts of her children, Richard (Barbara) Bye of Ferryville, Wis., and Sheila (Paul) Wiemerslage of Hudson; grandchildren Kevin (Marie) Bye, Karyn (Marty) Langenfeld, Laura (Bob) Madden, Anne (Andy) Heiser, Charlie Wiemerslage, and Paul Wiemerslage Jr.; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Jacob Bye, Nicholas and Katie Lagenfeld, Jordan, Parker, and MacKenzie Madden, Andrew Jr. "AJ" and Marquelle Heiser; and brother Roy "Bob" Eide of Bloomington.

Elsie was preceded in death by parents; brother Barney; sisters, Lillian Hanson, Carolyn Jensvold, and Ruth Supalo; grandson Chris Bye; and sister-in-law, Hazel Eide.

Funeral Services for Elsie will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 920 Third St., Hudson, with Pastor Dennis Nelson officiating. A visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service at church. Interment will take place at Willow River Cemetery of Hudson. Pallbearers assisting with the services will be Charles Wiemerslage, Paul Wiemerslage Jr., Kevin Bye, Marty Langenfeld, Bob Madden, and Andy Heiser.

Services have been entrusted to the O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, 715-386-3725.
