Lloyd William Waldroff, age 82, of St. Joseph Township, Wis., died suddenly at his home on April 4.

Lloyd was born on April 23, 1929, to John and Emma (Rembold) Waldroff, on the family farm in St. Joseph Township. He grew up on the farm where his family raised dairy cattle and crops. He attended the Four Corners Grade School as well as the Somerset High School. At the age of 16, while attending a country school dance, Lloyd met June Porter. The two began courting and were later engaged. On Jan. 7, 1950, the two were united in marriage at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hudson, Wis. This marriage would be blessed with three children, Becky, Jeff, and Lori. The Waldroff family would settle on the family farm on Perch Lake Road where he would farm until his passing.

Lloyd was a hard-working and dedicated father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was interested in his community and was always supportive and helpful of his friends and neighbors. He was one of the original members of the St. Joseph Township Fire Department and served faithfully for many, many years. Lloyd was an avid Packer fan who always found time to watch the games and even traveled to Green Bay to watch the team in action. He enjoyed country western music and often he and June would head out to the local halls for nights of dancing.

Lloyd is survived by his family and friends. This includes his wife, June; daughter, Becky (Gerald) Christiansen of St. Joseph Township; son, Jeff (Robin) Waldroff of St. Joseph Township and Lori Waldroff of Stillwater, Minn.; grandchildren, Tom Christiansen of Hudson, Tricia (Christopher) Christiansen of Hudson, Chad (Jessica) Waldroff of Baldwin, Wis., and Kasey (Josef) Lindstrom of Baldwin; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jadyn, and Teddy; and other relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.

A celebration of Lloyd's life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Burkhardt, Wis. A visitation will be held for 1 hour prior to services at the church as well as on Monday, April 9, from 4-7 p.m. at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson.

Services are in the care of the O'Connell Family Funeral Home - Hudson, 715-386-3725, www.oconnellfuneralhomes.com.
