Edward F. “Ed” Nuebel, age 80, of Hudson, Wis., died on Friday, April 27, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Ed was born Jan. 17, 1932, in St. Paul, Minn., to parents Frank C. and Vera Mae (Lundt) Nuebel. Ed graduated from Mechanic Arts High School and was a standout athlete and on the all-city football team. Ed was united in marriage to Sally Lucille Anderson on Sept. 10, 1955, and was blessed with four daughters and 10 grandchildren whom he adored.

At the time of his death, he was still active in business, serving as president and CEO of Amtech Ingredients, a company he founded. Ed served on numerous boards in the Hudson area, and was a dedicated member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. For 42 years he operated several food stands at the Minnesota State Fair. He could fix anything and do everything.

Ed loved his family and loved being a grandpa. Ed was a grandpa who was loving and fun and would sit at the kids' table when they got together as a family. He nurtured his children and grandchildren with inspiration, wisdom, and self-confidence. He was both their best friend and their strongest advocate. He will be missed dearly by his loving family and a multitude of friends.

The first time I met Ed was at the Hudson Hospital Gym. I have known him for several years, and really treasured being his friend. I, as well as my wife, will truly miss his smiling face, and will add him to our list of daily prayers. May God Bless him..... Marty and Cindy Boxenhorn
