Jean was born on March 17, 1947, at River Falls City Hospital, River Falls, Wis., to Guy David and Evelyn Louise (Cochran) Wilbur. She graduated from St. Croix Central High School in 1965 and married Vernon W. Evenson on July 11, 1970. They have three children: Robert Vernon, Carrie Jean, and Cory William Evenson.

Jean is survived by her husband of 41 years, Vernon; her three children, Robert, Carrie, and Cory; her daughter-in-law, Erin Maire; and two grandsons, David William and Christian Deane Evenson, all of Norman, Okla., as well as her two sisters, Susan (Richard) Dux and Grace (Gary) Hoyer, both of Roberts, Wis., and two brothers, Paul (Anne) Wilbur, of New Richmond, Wis., and David (Christine) Wilbur, of Bourbonnais, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Rose Marie Wilbur.

Jean had retired with over 20 years of experience in the banking industry. She was also active in 4-H for many years in Wisconsin, Arkansas, and Texas. As part of her 4-H activities, she served as the superintendent of rabbits for the Washington County Fair in Fayetteville, Ark., the Arkansas-Oklahoma State Fair in Fort Smith, Ark., the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock, Ark., and the Washington County 4-H Livestock Show in Leesburg, Texas, for many years where she introduced many children and adults to the joys of raising and showing rabbits. She also enjoyed collecting antiques, glassware, and quilting.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, June 17, at Cross Lutheran Church in Roberts. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations for cancer research be made to the Peggy and Charles Stephenson Cancer Center at the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City, Okla., in her memory (https://www.oufoundation.org/OnlineGiving/OUDevGiving.aspx?pgid=CancerInst).
