Helen C. Sherman, age 93, of Hudson, passed away on June 12, at the Christian Community Home in Hudson.
Helen C. Sherman, age 93, of Hudson, passed away on June 12, at the Christian Community Home in Hudson.
She was born the daughter of William and Flossie (Cameron) Williamson on Sept. 6, 1918, in Hudson. She attended elementary school in North Hudson and graduated from Hudson High School in 1936. She furthered her education in the Twin Cities through business college courses. On Aug. 20, 1941, she was united in marriage to Lew W. Sherman at the First Baptist Church in Hudson. They were blessed with four children: Lew, Bill, Flossie, and Dan.
Helen worked for many years performing clerical duties for West Publishing in St. Paul (today Thompson-Reuters) before retiring in 1982. Helen's world revolved around her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them at the family cabin on Cedar Lake.
Helen will remain in the hearts of her three sons: Lew (Sue) Sherman of Spotsylvania, Va., Bill (Shirley) Sherman of Hudson, Wis., and Dan Sherman of New Richmond, Wis.; son-in-law, Mike Lindner of Cottage Grove, Minn; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Eunice Miller of Hudson, Wis., and Irene Williamson of Clinton, Iowa.; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lew; daughter, Flossie Lindner; sisters Florence Becker, Margaret Volz, Jane Halverson, and Barbara Anderson; and brothers, Bill, Bob and Jim Williamson.
A private graveside service will be held for Helen at Willow River Cemetery, where she will be interred next to her husband.
