Iris Coty, age 76, of Sun City Center, Fla., has left for an "everlasting vacation with the Lord and all the angels in Heaven," surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with ALS on June 12.
Iris was born July 29, 1935, in Hudson, Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert and Charlotte (Rinsberg) Lyksett. She attended Hudson Elementary School and Hudson High School. She was united in marriage to Donald W. Coty on Oct. 24, 1953, in North Hudson, Wisconsin.
Iris was a gifted mom of three boys, a worldly vacationer and shopper of clothes, and especially shoes to match. Golfing and the many social events associated with it were a priority. The challenge of raising 3 sons and a husband barely left time to return to work as a legal secretary for several Hudson attorneys. Early retirement was well deserved and the grandchildren, great-grandchildren, plus Florida residency left her busy.
Iris will remain in the hearts of her husband of 58 years, Don; sons, Mark (Julianne) Coty of Osceola, Wis., Tim (Loretta) Coty of Hudson, and Jonathan Coty of Hudson; grandchildren, Matthew (Nicole) Coty of South St. Paul, Amber Coty of New Richmond, Wis., Hailey (Tony) Meyer of Prescott, Wis., Joshua (Maysa) Coty of Hudson, and Melissa (Jeremy) Pedersen of Hudson; great-grandchildren, Emma, Presley, Destany, and Vanessa; sister Charlotte Tongen of San Francisco; along with many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Albert, Harvey, Oliver, Roger; and sisters Dorthea Johnson, Nathalie Hunt, Betty Eakle, and Nina Gilbertson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 11th St. S., Hudson, WI, with a prayer service to conclude the evening. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 22, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 920 3rd St., Hudson, with a gathering 1 hour prior to the service at church. Private family interment at Willow River Cemetery to follow.
Services are in the care of the O'Connell Family Funeral Home - Hudson Chapel. 715.386.3725.
