Born in Sheboygan, Wis., on Oct. 14, 1948. Graduated from Stillwater High School in 1966.
Dick retired from a long career at American Security and Marsden Bldg. Maintenance in the Twin Cities.
Preceded in death by his parents, John O Kohl and Pauline E. Smith Kohl, formerly from Bayport, Minn., Elkhart Lake, Wis., and Mazatlan, Mexico.
He leaves three brothers and three sisters, Timothy, Kricket, Peter, Lisa, Karen (Dave Crist), Kurt Kohl, and two nephews Ryan and Jaime Crist. Also cousins Barry, Karen, Sharon, Lucinda, Kate, and Patty, and many dear friends and associates. Dick also leaves his beloved pet and hunting companion, "Timber," his Black Lab.
The family would like to express its gratitude to the entire Marsden family who were Dick's second family. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed all sports from snow and waterskiing, golf, geese and duck hunting, game hunting, clay pigeon shooting, snowmobiling, boating and all water sports. Richard celebrated life and loved to cook gourmet meals for his family and guests.
Celebration of Richard's Life and Memorial will take place from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at Lake Elmo Inn. Memorials preferred to Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, or any hunting organization of choice.
