Leonard M. Johnson, age 76, of Hudson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 14, surrounded by his loving family, at The Gathering at Boutwell’s Landing.

Leonard M. Johnson, age 76, of Hudson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 14, surrounded by his loving family, at The Gathering at Boutwell’s Landing.

Len is survived by his wife of 53 years, Charlotte; children, Laurie (Perry) Cousseau, Len (Eve) Johnson, Kim (Scott) McCrae, Mike (Amy) Johnson, Kristina (Tyler) Hanson, Katherine (Brett) Grendahl; grand-children, William, Peter, Lucy, Maddie, Alec, Brianna, Abigail, Sam, Ben, Charlotte, Olivia, Morgan, Jackson, Violet; sisters, Grace and Lorraine; family and dear friends.

He graduated from Linwood Elementary, St. Paul Academy. and Yale University. Len was raised in St. Paul, Minn., and lived in Columbus, Ohio; West St. Paul, Minn.; Tokyo, Japan; Morristown, N.J.; Long Lake, Minn.; Lake Toxaway, N.C.; Bayport, Minn.; and Hudson, Wis. Len loved learning, expanding his mind, playing the piano, drawing, reading, golfing, traveling, writing in his many journals, and being in the midst of his family. He always celebrated his grandchildren and appreciated their many talents. Len lived his life with kindness, dignity and humility. He will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to The Science Museum of Minnesota and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 502 County Road UU, Hudson. Officiating will be Fr. Guy Usher. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at church.
