She was born on Feb. 13, 1927 to Oscar and Marie (Pedersen) Seekamp, the oldest of 5 children. Ruth grew up in River Falls, attending River Falls public schools, graduating in 1945. She became an elementary education teacher after graduating from River Falls State Teachers College in 1948. Her teaching career was in New Richmond and River Falls.
Ruth married Frederick (Fritz) Anding on June 18, 1950, at the Lutheran House of Worship in River Falls. As a faithful servant of the Lord, Ruth was a lifetime member of the Women of Faith and a dedicated Sunday school teacher.
Over the years, Ruth participated in many local and state organizations, including St. Croix County Extension Homemakers, Farm Bureau, UW-RF Alumni, 1945 Class Reunion Committee, Music Madams, Town of Troy United Fund, and Town of Troy Election Officials. Among her hobbies were embroidery, cross-stitch, flower gardening, and bird watching. Throughout her life, she was a fanatic football fan of River Falls High School, college, and especially the Green Bay Packers. Her love of music was displayed through singing, piano playing, and watching the Lawrence Welk Show. Ruth and Fritz enjoyed traveling, the gift of nature, and the beauty of photography.
