DuWayne Davisson, 61

DuWayne Earl Davisson, age 61, of Hudson, Wis., formerly of St. Paul, Minn., passed away on Oct. 30, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

DuWayne Earl Davisson, age 61, of Hudson, Wis., formerly of St. Paul, Minn., passed away on Oct. 30, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

DuWayne was born on Feb. 14, 1951, in Northfield, Minn., to Eugene Roscoe and Rosella E. (Lauer) Davisson. He grew up in Randolph with his sister, Linda, and attended Randolph schools. Upon his graduation, he attended St. Paul Technical College. He then started his 38-year career with the University of Minnesota. During this time, he also served many roles for the Teamsters Union - Local 320. On Nov. 6, 1976, he married Sarah Marie Fida at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in St. Paul, Minn. Together, they raised four children: Keith, Kevin, Haley, and Nicole.

Following his retirement in 2007, DuWayne enjoyed fishing, going to the lake, helping others with projects, spending time with his family, friends, and pet Shih Tzus, Nina and Gizmo. DuWayne had an extremely generous heart and always put others first. He cherished his family and friends and showed his love and care in everything he did.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene.

DuWayne is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Sarah; children, Keith (Sharon) Davisson of Ringle, Wis., Kevin (Tammy) Davisson of Wausau, Wis., Haley Santella of River Falls, Wis., and Nicole (Tony) Spalding of Vadnais Heights, Minn.; grandchildren, Michael, Sam, Jack, Mia, and Aidan; step-grandchildren, Makaela, Robby, and Reagan; mother, Rosella Davisson of Randolph, Minn.; sister, Linda (Bernard) Perry of Randolph; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Lois Fida of St. Paul; along with brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, extended family, and loving friends.

A funeral service for DuWayne will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hudson, with Pastor Tim Booth officiating. A visitation will be held 6-9 p. m. Friday, Nov. 2, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, and 1 hour prior to the service Saturday. Interment will take place at a later date.
