Patricia Lois Bader (nee Cook), age 78, of Hudson, Wis., passed away peacefully, in the presence of her son, Bill, on Nov. 6, at Comforts of Home in River Falls, Wis., after a long battle with dementia.

Patricia was born on April 2, 1934, to Dayton and Gerda (Haslund) Cook in St. Paul, Minn. She graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1952 and then attended nursing school.

In 1958, she was married to Rev. Robert Middleton. They moved to St. Paul in 1969. The marriage was blessed with two children, William and Maureen. The marriage later dissolved. Patricia then joined the Hennepin Medical Society where she rose to the position of director of credentialing.

In 1989, she married William Bader at the Peace UCC in St. Paul and moved to his home in Hudson. In 1995, Patricia and William began enjoying retirement by traveling the world. Patricia continued her volunteer job as choir director at Peace UCC where she dedicated 26 years. Patricia loved to sing, not just in church, but for generations of friends and families at weddings and funerals. She also sang in the Phipps Choir and at other events. Patricia was also a caring woman. She acquired the nickname "Mother Theresa" because she was always willing to serve others in need.

Patricia is survived by her husband, William Bader of Hudson; her children, William Middleton of Menomonie and Maureen (Mark) Gullickson of Broken Arrow, Okla.; stepchildren, Angelica Bader of Mendota Heights, Minn., and William Bader of Hudson; siblings, Dr. James (Diane) Cook of New Hope, Minn., and Kathleen (Philip) Kulka of River Grove, Ill.; her grandchildren; and many other relatives and dear friends.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Dayton and Gerda Cook, and stepmother, Elaine Cook.

A private gathering to celebrate Patricia's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, any memorials can be sent to a charity of your choice in honor of Patricia.

Cremation services were provided by the O'Connell Family Funeral Home, 715-386-3725, www.oconnellfuneralhomes.com.

Bill, my deepest sympathy to you and Pat's family. Pat was my Mentor while she was Director of Credentialing and I will be forever grateful for her friendship and guidance throughout our 15 years of working together. Take care during this difficult time. Lou Ann Hoffert
