Sheldon 'Bucky' Peterson, 76

Sheldon "Bucky" Peterson, age 76, of Hudson, Wis., passed away on Nov. 23 at Christian Community Home in Hudson after a brief but valiant fight with cancer.

Sheldon "Bucky" Peterson, age 76, of Hudson, Wis., passed away on Nov. 23 at Christian Community Home in Hudson after a brief but valiant fight with cancer.

Peterson was born in St. Paul, Minn., on May 21, 1936, to Hiram and Marion. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, and upon his discharge, began working at Northwest Airlines.

He married Jocile Johnson on June 17, 1961, and settled in Hudson the following year. After 36 years with Northwest, he retired in 1993.

Bucky was quite the crooner, participating in several barbershop singing groups throughout his time. He was also an avid hunter as well as being a longtime hunter safety instructor.

He is survived by his wife, Jocile; children, Craig (Jeannette) of Glenwood City, Wis., Tamee (Robert) Ruderman of Wellington, Fla.; grandchildren, Jessica, Justin, Aaron, Amanda (Andrew) Dickey, and Betsy; and great-grandchildren, Nolan and Kyley Blilie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Douglas.

A prayer service for Sheldon will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. A visitation will take place following the service until 8 p.m.
