Robert John Simmons Jr., age 47, of Hudson, Wis., passed away suddenly on Nov. 27 at his cabin in Hayward, Wis.

Robert John Simmons Jr., age 47, of Hudson, Wis., passed away suddenly on Nov. 27 at his cabin in Hayward, Wis.

Robert was born on Dec. 13, 1964, to Kathleen (O’Connor) and Robert Simmons Sr. in Illinois. He attended school in Lake Forest, Ill, and later obtained a bachelor degree in business. On May 29, 1999, he married April Yeager in Lake Forest, a marriage that would be blessed with five children: Kelsey, Griffin, Megan, Trey, and Jenna. Robert owned two businesses: Armor Health Care and SMS Inc., which specialized in sales, marketing, and consulting of medical supplies.

Robert enjoyed tennis and participated with his entire family in the sport. His love for tennis inspired him to create the Hudson Tennis Association as a means of bringing the sport back to the Hudson community.

He is survived by his wife, April; children, Kelsey, Griffin, Megan, Trey, and Jenna; father, Bob (Teresa) Simmons Sr.; and sisters, Suzanne and Stephanie Simmons.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen.

A memorial service for Robert will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Bethel Highlands Church, 504 Frontage Rd., Hudson, with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be held at a later date in Lake Forest. Memorials are preferred to the family.

Services were in the care of the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, 715-386-3725.
