Richard "Dick" Allen Olstad, age 81, of Hudson, went to be with his wife, Donna, and the Lord on Dec. 16 after a very courageous fight with cancer.
Richard "Dick" Allen Olstad, age 81, of Hudson, went to be with his wife, Donna, and the Lord on Dec. 16 after a very courageous fight with cancer.
Dick was born on Aug. 15, 1931, in Stillwater, Minn., to John and Bertha Olstad. He graduated from Stillwater High School. On July 10, 1954, he married Donna Evenson, and they made their home in Hudson. They had two sons, Carl and Mark.
Dick worked for 3M Company, where he retired in 1995. His love in life was sports, especially baseball.
Dick is survived by his sons, Carl (Deb) of Somerset and Mark (DeAnn) of Hudson; granddaughter Cadie Olstad; grandson Christopher Olstad; sister-in-law, Edna Atwood; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; parents, John and Bertha Olstad; brother, Floyd Olstad, and sister, Mavis Wilson.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at O'Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, with a prayer service following at 7 p.m. Memorials are preferred.
