Daniel Murphy, 58

Daniel James Murphy, born Aug. 19, 1954, passed away from natural causes in his home Jan. 12.

Daniel James Murphy, born Aug. 19, 1954, passed away from natural causes in his home Jan. 12. He had spent his final evening with his friend Deb Curtis watching NFL football after a delicious dinner of lobster tail and steak.

His children, Chase Alexander (Liesl) Murphy and Samantha Campbell Murphy, survive Daniel and currently live in Chicago, Ill.

Dan lived a short but full life, always loving his family and friends. He enjoyed his career as a tile-setting expert and filled his leisure time catching rays by the pool, mowing the lawn, tending to his successful garden, and watching/reading anything to do with crime.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, James K Murphy and Emma Tuttle Murphy.

A Celebration of Dan's Life will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at O'Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, Wis. Family, friends, and well-wishers are invited to attend. There will be a ceremony held after the services at his home during which his ashes will be spread into his garden at the request of his children. They believe that is what he would have wanted. He will be deeply missed by all.

Services are entrusted to the O'Connell Family Funeral Home, 715-386-3725, www.oconnellfuneralhomes.com.

Dear Chase and Sam, I've known your Dad since we were in the 3rd grade. In all those years, the thing I remember most is that he always made mr laugh. No matter what or where we were. It was one of his many incredible gifts. Never forget that you were the absolute light of his life. My thoughts and prayers are with you on this very difficult day. Terry

Dan always had a great smile on his face. I will miss running into him and seeing the smile and getting a hug. Losing a loved one is so very hard. I am so sad for Dan's family. Jackie Donner Schmit
