Jared Michael Zeuli, age 30, of Anchorage, Alaska, formerly of Hudson, Wis., passed away March 2.

Jared was born Feb. 1, 1983, in Hudson, the son of John and Elizabeth “Lisa” (Guggemos) Zeuli. Jared graduated from Eielson High School in Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska (class of 2001). After high school, Jared furthered his education at the University of Alaska in Anchorage and obtained an associate's degree in ultrasonic engineering. Jared worked as a non-destructive engineering services technician for General Electric, which gave him the opportunity to travel throughout the world.

Jared was very technical and very creative, often leading him to take things apart just to see how they work. He would also do in-depth research on what fascinated him. He had a true passion for life and the arts and enjoyed sculpturing, welding with scrap metal, and charcoal painting. He was fascinated with cars and took a special interest in rebuilding the 1983 Audi Quattro Coup. Jared also had a love for animals, cooking, hunting with his dad, playing guitar, and snowboarding. Jared's creativity and excitement for life connected him with children. He was especially proud of his nephew, Brandon, and enjoyed sharing time and memories with him. Jared had a generous and caring heart, always putting others first. He relished in the times he shared with his family. Jared's passion for life was a true gift that he leaves those behind to remember and cherish.

Jared will remain in the hearts of his parents, John and Elizabeth “Lisa” Zeuli of Anchorage; his brother, John (Jennifer) of Rochester, Minn.; nephew, Brandon; aunts and uncles Tonita (Nate) Shubat, Thomas (Barb) Zeuli, Annette (Rich) Hefti, Rita (Steve) Fiedler, Christine (Lee) Brown, Marie (Scott) Scholl, Melanie Guggemos, Matthew (Angeline) Guggemos, and Michael (Rona) Guggemos; many cousins; and his best friend, Kenji Gailey.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Anthony and Betty Zeuli and Eugene and Annette Guggemos; as well as his aunt Linda Rohr.

A Celebration of Jared's Life will take place at Mama Maria's restaurant in Hudson from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, March 7.
