Martell Vineyards fall harvest 2009

Another bountiful harvest brings a smile to Tom Martell, owner of Martell vineyards in the town of Somerset. A lack of sun required the overhanging canopy of leaves be cut back during the summer to ensure the grapes would ripen before the frost. The two-weekend harvest produced 14.8 tons of grapes, the most ever. All photos by Jon Echternacht
