  • Cadets traditionally throw their hats in the air upon completion of graduation ceremonies. The U.S. Military Academy class of 2011 graduated 1,031, including 16 combat veterans; 68 are sons or daughters of West Point graduates and four of those have parents who are both graduates, according to the USMA website www.usma.edu.
