  • Donna Seim, who represented the Friends of Perch Lake, always has a wonderful display of family homestead articles. This year, in the center, Ken Johnson of Hammond, donated an underwater photo of a loon that he took on Perch Lake. The photo was a silent auction item to raise money for the organization. Johnson told Seim the photo was taken in about 10 feet of water and that the loon swam along side of him. He took, printed and framed the print for the group. Photos by Margaret A. Ontl
  • The Town of St. Joseph Fire Department hosted its first pancake breakfast on Saturday in conjunction with the annual fall festival. A good crowd and donations of pancake mix and other items made the event a success. They plan to make it an annual event. Submitted photo

  • Every year Nancy Hawkinson expands the exhibit she displays on the history of the town of St. Joseph. This year included this curious souvenir from the Houlton School, 1902-03.
  • Hidden for years within a poster, this advertisement for Birch Park Ski area was on display this year. Nancy Hawkinson’s daughter discovered it in a poster for the defunct ski hill, which is now a residential subdivision.
