Hudson's Rotary clubs honored 160 high school seniors for academic achievement on Wednesday, April 25th, 2012

  • Hudson Noon Rotarian Jeff Zais introduces guest speaker Dr. Elizabeth Andre from Northland College at Ashland. Andre assured students that a broad-based liberal arts education would bring them lifelong rewards.
  • Dr. Elizabeth Andre described the extreme conditions she and fellow members of a Will Steger expedition experienced while traveling the Baffin Islands by dogsled in 2007.
  • Kelsey Robertson was the recipient of a $1,500 scholarship for Most Improved Academics among HHS seniors. Presenting the award was Hudson Rotary Club president Dan Martens.
  • Students line up to receive academic honors from associate principals Wendy Langer and Kevin Moore and receieve congratulations from principal Laura Love.
  • HHS senior Victor Yang was the recipient of a $1,500 academic scholarship from Hudson's Daybreak Rotary Club. Congratulating Yang is club president Annette Cook.
  • Liz Malanaphy, community volunteer and leader of Hudson's Destination Imagination curriculum, was singled out by Hudson Daybreak Rotarians to receive a Paul Harris award for her commitment to youth and help in fulfilling Daybreak's motto of "Enhancing opportunities for youth and creating a better community for all."
  • Hudson High School math teacher and head football coach Adam Kowles was chosen by Daybreak Rotary members to receive an honorary Paul Harris award because of his unparalleled dedication to all students, regardless of athletic prowess.
