Highlights of the Goliath Challenge 5K race


Sisters Rebecca Robertson of Cannon Falls, Minn, and Ellen Robertson of Madison were running the race to support "Feed My Starving Children". Their adopted siblings are from Ethiopia and did in fact benefit from the food packets received from the "Feed My Starving Childen" program before coming to the USA.

  • A web of rope was one of the challenges that participants met along the trail.
  • Badlands had their snowmakers running to provide a slippery surface for this leg of the race. Runners grabbed a tube and slid down a 150 foot path, and got cooled off in the process.
  • Each of the Goliath Challenges had a biblical reference. This trio of tunnels brought the runners to their knees.
  • The last challenge of the race included a 2 foot deep pool of water that all runners had to race through.
  • The first heat of the kids race saw a swarm of runners hitting the cargo ropes at once.
  • The young ladies in this group were ready to take on the Golitath Challenge
  • "David" is played by Bryce Hartwick of Hudson; he challenged his father Bill Hartwick who played "Goliath". The pair gave encouragement to all teh participants.
  • Trinity Lutheran Church Pastor Tim Booth was removing his wet running shoes after finishing the race, three water challenges cooled off the runners and added a fun finish to the race.
