  • Runners of all ages set out from the festival grounds at the North Hudson Village Hall at the start of the Pepper Fest 5- and 10-kilometer footraces. The Saturday morning races attracted a combined field of nearly 200 runners.
  • Any Garber, 15, of Bavaria, Germany, was the fastest girls in the Pepper Fest one-mile fun run. She crossed the finish line behind Ray Somerville, 12, right, of North Hudson, the overall winner. Garber is spending three weeks with Daryl and Laurie Simonson of North Hudson.
  • Ten-year-old Calla Dexheimer of River Falls reaches the finish line of the Pepper Fest 5K. She placed first among the women with a time of 24 minutes, 5.9 seconds, and 10th overall.
  • Megan Schendel-Dittmann of Phoenix is the first woman to finish the Pepper Fest 10K with a time of 52 minutes, 9.8 seconds. Schendel-Dittmann, a Hudson native, was here visiting her father, Michael Schendel of Hudson.
  • Tommy Datwyler wins the Pepper Fest 10K with a time of 37 minutes, 51.7 seconds. Datwyler, a 2005 Hudson High grad, has lost track of the number of times he’s won the Pepper Fest 10K. He won the race in 2010 and 2008, and probably in a previous year or years.
