Letter: At last a positive twist
At last! A few letters to the editor with a positive attitude: July 26 Thomas Brinsko, Diane Radle, Richard Larsen. And bless those two young men, Jace Frederick, the Star-Observer’s new intern who wrote such an upbeat column about his new job; and 16-year-old Landon Carter who exhibits wisdom beyond his years.

I must respond to the recent letter to the editor by Ms.Meredith Berg strongly critical of my upcoming talk at the University of Wisconsin- River Falls on St. Croix Valley geology. There are a number of misconceptions in her letter, and I will address a few.

Our View: Board members should have full access to records
Opinion
There is a letter to the editor in this week’s Star-Observer from School Board member Sandy Gehrke, upset about the district’s request that she pay $428.54 for copies of paperwork. Gehrke might be viewed by some as a maverick on the board, but she was the choice of the voters.

Letter: Critical of Kaisersatt
In his letter of last week school board member Mark Kaisersatt seemed frustrated with taxpayers asking for accountability. I would respectfully suggest that if Mr. Kaisersatt spent half as much time diligently carrying out his duties as a school board member as he does penning letters to the editor, that the district would not be in its current state of disarray.

Letter: Dislikes ‘disease’
Last week a caller to a WCCO radio talk show told of a disease that I had not hear of before. Upon learning of this probable contagious disease, it occurred to me that we probably had some of these carriers for this disease here in our Hudson area and in Baldwin and St. Croix County as well.
