The Hudson Hot Air Affair will take to the sky this weekend for the 24th annual hot air balloon rally and winter festival Feb. 1-3. The event is presented by WESTconsin Credit Union—Hudson and features commercial, regular and special-shaped hot air balloons coming to town for the weekend.

Sundar Imports is a new kind of business in Hudson. The pop-up boutique specializes in fashion and more that is fair trade, fairly made and eco-conscious. Co-owner Stefani Gerczak and Becky Turnbull also believe in giving back to the community that supports them. Yesterday, as I was exiting Knoke’s -- a beautifully restored and remodeled building on Locust Street -- I looked over at the old post office and nearly dropped my cone! There I saw an enormous, windowless, two-story cement box being constructed on the west side of that stately old building, originally built in 1939.
