Additionally, this policy allows for printing and retrieval fees of such records to be waived for a board member if the records requested are necessary for the proper performance of the board member’s official duties and can be made available through reasonable expenditures of staff time and other resources.

There is a letter to the editor in this week’s Star-Observer from School Board member Sandy Gehrke, upset about the district’s request that she pay $428.54 for copies of paperwork. Gehrke might be viewed by some as a maverick on the board, but she was the choice of the voters.
