I hope most of the readers of this paper are sophisticated enough to recognize the exaggerations and misrepresentations in the recent letter titled ”UW-RF series repeats ’lies’” (Sept. 14) by Meredith Berg. Walker labor law overturned in county court; impact unclear
A Dane County Circuit Court judge may have overturned several of the provisions in Wisconsin’s Act 10/31 that prohibits most collective bargaining rights of public employees, but the long-term impact of the decision is unclear to those on all sides of the issue. Martell’s last grape harvest
The 2012 harvest at Martell Vineyards last weekend was a bittersweet event. Not only did a harsh growing year with a spring frost wipe out the La Crescent grapes and reduce the total harvest to about half last year’s 37-ton production, but also owner Tom Martell, who established the five acres of grapes outside Somerset, died just five weeks before the harvest.

Back to Mac after 48 years
It started with an invitation for alumni members to volunteer for move-in day Aug. 31 when the first-year students, freshmen we use to call them, show up for their first day of college life.
