Hudson soccer one win from state tourney
The Raider boys’ soccer team posted a 1-0 victory over Wausau East Thursday night, Oct. 18, to advance to the WIAA Division 1 sectional final Saturday, Oct. 20, against Eau Claire Memorial. Hudson (19-4-2), the No. 2 seed in the 16-team bracket, and the top-seeded Old Abes (20-2-1) will meet for a berth in the state tournament at 2 p.m. at Chippewa Falls High School’s Dorais Field.

Hudson, RF both advance in soccer regional
Second-seeded Hudson breezed to a 10-0 victory over No. 15 Superior while No. 4 River Falls needed a shootout to earn a victory over No. 13 Wausau West in WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal action Tuesday, Oct. 9. The Wildcats had to come from behind to force a 1-1 tie with Wausau West before winning the shootout, 5-3.

Raider soccer wins, loses and draws
After a 5-1 victory over Eau Claire North at home last Tuesday, the Raider boys’ soccer team found the going a little tougher later in the week on the other side of the river. Hudson was outshot 23-6 in a 3-0 loss at Stillwater last Thursday and played better Saturday in Apple Valley but came away with a 0-0 tie.

SEPT. 18, 2012: HHS grad found dead
A memorial for Jordan Costello will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Faith Community Church in Hudson. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church as well as from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home - Hudson Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials given will be donated the Humane Society in honor of Jordan and her love of animals.
