The Hudson City Council on Jan. 9 authorized the issuance of $8.3 million in revenue bonds that a Minnesota company will use to purchase the two 36-unit Cedar Ridge Apartments buildings on Namekagon Street and make improvements to them.

Contractor will plow downtown parking lots this winter
A private contractor will be removing snow from the city of Hudson’s seven downtown parking lots this winter. Kyle Westphal of All Scapes Lawn Care was awarded the contract for the work at the Dec. 5 City Council meeting.

A couple months ago, I asked the Hudson City Council to ban driving golf balls within the city limits except at a golf course. I was concerned about the possibility of citizens being injured. I was turned down flat.

City park improvements are under way
Work is under way or wrapping up on three city park projects. Zappa Brothers Inc. was busy last week laying the base for a new Lakefront Park beach pathway, is also working on storm sewers at Grandview Park, and the city also recently laid a pathway in Weitkamp Park.

The old Hudson bathing beach and bathhouse that was located in Lakefront Park was sited near the current boat launch and was an important recreational facility in this community for nearly 70 years.
