Crash closes westbound I-94 for six hours
Westbound I-94 east of Hudson was closed for six hours on Thursday, June 7, in the wake of a five-vehicle crash involving two semi tractor-trailers. Just one person, Mary A. Kielpinski, 63, of Eau Claire was seriously injured in the accident.

Walker wins recall election; wins big in the state and St. Croix County
Wisconsin Republican Gov. Scott Walker has survived the recall challenge, defeated challenger Tom Barrett, a Democrat. As of late Tuesday night, Walker had been declared the winner by all major news outlets and held a commanding lead over Barrett. With 2,997 of 3424 state precincts reporting (88 percent), Walker had 1,130,742 votes to Barrett’s 942,431.

Work is now underway to make improvements to the entrance and exit ramps at the intersection of I-94 and Hwy. 65. The two mile project includes a new interchange, which will include roundabouts.

A former Somerset man was sentenced to jail and probation in a conviction on one felony count of possession of child pornography Tuesday, May 22. Richard Lewis Tereau, 42, St. Paul, avoided prison if he never returns to Judge Howard W. Cameron’s court on a criminal charge.
