The first winter storm of the season has dumped at least a foot of snow on the Hudson area and made travel hazardous. A snow emergency is in effect in the city of Hudson. No parking is allowed on any city street until the street is plowed from curb to curb.

Early gun-deer results show harvest up nearly 20 percent over last year
Overall, the statewide gun-deer harvest is up over 19 percent from 2011, and registration increased in all regions, the Wisconsin DNR reported late Monday. Warm weather likely had some hunters registering their deer right away instead of leaving them hang at camp, which likely bumped up the numbers.
