Peer to Peer Training: teens teaching younger students 
Each year dozens of teen volunteers participate in Youth Action Hudson’s Peer to Peer Training. The program is based on the idea that students relate better to their older peers, especially when it comes to many of the social issues they face every day.

H1N1 vaccine clinics set at Hudson schools
Hudson students will be able to receive the H1N1 flu vaccine at two clinics scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, December 16 and 17. These clinics are not open to the general public.

Hudson students selected for WSMA honors
Last February (high school) and last April (middle school), 50 Hudson middle and high School music students auditioned in Eau Claire for the opportunity to become members of the 2009 Wisconsin Middle Level Band, Choir or Orchestra or Wisconsin High School Honors Band, Choirs, or Orchestra.

District gets grant to help homeless students
Over the past two years, the Hudson School District has experienced an increase in the number of homeless students. While numbers remain low overall, the population of homeless students in the district has doubled each of those years.

School enrollment up 100, nearly 5,400
At a time when most numbers are going down, the enrollment of the Hudson School District keeps growing. The latest count shows about 100 more students this year than last, or nearly 5,400 total.

Hudson students are above state ACT score
Hudson students taking the ACT test last year had a composite score a full point above the state average and the highest in the area, according to information released last week by the Department of Public Instruction.
