Local legend ‘Coach Cassutt’ dies
Whether it was to the Big Leagues or Booster baseball, longtime Hudson educator and coach Florian “Cass” Cassutt gave it his all. Cassutt died March 2 at Hudson Hospital. He was 86.

Trinity rolled out the Red Carpet 
The 2010 Trinity Gala, “An Academy Celebration” was Saturday, Feb. 6 at Kilkarney Hills Golf Club. Over 200 guests walked the red carpet for the ninth annual fund raiser for Trinity Academy.

Hudson teacher inspired by last fall’s China visit
Hudson Middle School seventh-grade social studies teacher Mike Yell traveled to China recently and found the experience to be “incredible.” He led a group of teachers from around the United States in a People to People Citizen Ambassador Program.

Teachers earn $13,245 in grants
The Education Foundation of Hudson last week awarded Star Grants for innovative projects and curriculum training. The foundation awarded grants totaling $13,245 for seven projects involving 25 educators and administrators touching most schools in the Hudson district.

Not sorry for teachers
I sincerely hope that the teachers in this school district and their union reps read last week’s Star-Observer. If they didn’t already know it, and it would seem that they do not, people in Hudson, surrounding cities and towns, and St. Croix County are in dire straits.
