The Hudson School District’s annual meeting will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at Hudson High School’s auditorium beginning at 7 p.m.September 01, 2010
Student enrollment going up

Tentative school budget up 6% plus 
The Hudson Board of Education got its first look at the 2010-11 district budget at its meeting last week. Stressing that all the figures presented were preliminary, Director of Financial Services Tim Erickson said it looks like the budget will increase by about 6.3 percent for the coming school year.

School lunch prices go up 5 cents 
The Hudson Board of Education approved a 5 cent increase in school lunch prices at last week’s July school board meeting. There will be no increase in the cost of milk.

School board approves middle school addition fees 
The Hudson Board of Education approved a contract with Hoffman of Appleton to design and manage the construction of a $2 million addition to the Hudson Middle School to address overcrowding at the school.

More raises approved for school district staff 
The Hudson Board of Education approved another round of salary increases at a special meeting June 17. School district coordinators and supervisors received an average increase of 4.69 percent for the 2010-11 school year.

Hudson teachers to get 6.86 % raise 
The teachers in the Hudson School District will get a 6.86 percent increase in wages and benefits for the 2010-11 school year. The new contract was approved at Tuesday night’s Board of Education meeting by a vote of 4-2.

School salary story calls for clarification 
Last week, the Star-Observer reported that the district has added administrative positions to the staff in recent years including managers of human resources and financial services, as well as a communications specialist. Salary increases for those positions have not yet been determined.
