Stillwater bridge will close for 3 nights

The Stillwater Lift Bridge will be temporarily closed overnight between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 7-9 to replace malfunctioning electrical cables that power the gate arm system controlling traffic across the two-lane bridge.

At 2:46 p.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service office at Chanhassen, Minn., issued a tornado warning for southern St. Croix County, northern Pierce County and extreme southwestern Dunn County. The warning is in effect until 3:30 p.m.
