It is hard to believe, but one out of five Wisconsin drivers still doesn’t bother to wear a seat belt. There is good news, however, the 79 percent of drivers who buckle up represents a nice increase of about 6 percent since the last annual survey.

An interesting statistic was released last week. Wisconsin had more than 23,000 people in state prisons, compared to fewer than 9,000 in Minnesota. Yet, despite the marked difference in prison populations, Minnesota had more residents under some form of correctional control —prison, jail, probation, or parole.
