The Raider girls’ hockey team’s quest for a state tournament berth ended in heartbreak Saturday night when the defending state champion St. Croix Valley Fusion held on for a 3-1 victory over Hudson in the sectional final at Hunt Arena in River Falls.

Basketball: Boys fall short to Wausau West
The Raider boys’ basketball team led by three at halftime of Saturday’s regular season finale against Wausau West, but the Warriors rallied in the second half to improve to 18-4 on the season with a 48-43 victory over Hudson.

Basketball: Girls topped by Eau Claire Abes
Morgan Karras scored all 10 of her points in the fourth quarter to lead a Raider comeback effort, but Hudson couldn’t overcome a slow start and dropped a Big Rivers Conference game to Eau Claire Memorial, 45-33, Friday night at the high school.

Crain throws himself into semifinals
Hudson's Kyle Crain used a couple of throws to score big points and win his 152-pound quarterfinal match 12-4 at the WIAA State Individual Wrestling meet Thursday evening.

Raider girls skate to double OT win in sectional semifinal 
Emily Stankevitz poked home a rebound with 1:17 remaining in the second overtime to lift the Hudson girls’ hockey team to a 3-2 victory over Hayward in a sectional semifinal game Tuesday night (Feb. 23) in Hudson.

The Raider 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay teams narrowly missed setting new school records at the WIAA Division 1 Swimming and Diving Championships Saturday in Madison.

Four wrestlers heading to state
Twelve Hudson wrestlers participated in the Division 1 Sectional Tournament at Merrill Saturday and four of them advanced to the WIAA State Championship Tournament to be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday (Feb. 25-27) at the Kohl Center in Madison.

Amanda Baker took fifth in the all-around and Paige Kazak finished sixth to lead the Raider gymnastics team to a third place finish at the Big Rivers Conference Tournament Friday in River Falls.

Tiger skaters end Raider boys’ hockey season
After erupting for 11 goals in last Tuesday’s regional semifinal win over Spooner, the Raiders boys’ hockey team had a harder time finding the back of the net Thursday and dropped a 5-2 decision to New Richmond in a regional final game.
