Hudson Wrestling, Inc., announced this year’s recipients of the Scott Lindquist and Brent Howard Memorial Scholarships. Phil Bates and Kyle Crain each received a college scholarship in the amount of $500.

Local wrestler helps team win national title For the first time ever, the Wisconsin Junior National Wrestling Team won the Greco-Roman national title at the Junior National Duals in Oklahoma City. Helping the team win the title was 2010 Hudson High School graduate Kyle Crain, 18, who went 6-3 in the 160-pound weight class at the tournament.

Throw-Pin-Win: Crain wins state title with another throw and fall Kyle Crain wasn't planning on making another throw to win his state title match at 152 pounds in the Divison 1 tournament at the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Meet. He figured his opponent, Scott Van De Loo of Kaukauna would have scouted him out after three days at the Kohl Center. But when the opportunity presented itself, Crain took it and led to gold.

The Pin that won the Title PressPass

For the third straight match in a row, Hudson High School wrestler was able to catch his opponent, this time it was Kaukauna's Scott Van De Loo in a left-handed throw and for the third straight time it led to a pinfall in a 1:42. Only this time it won him a state championship in Division 1 at 152 pounds at the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Meet in Madison.
