Goliath Challenge set for July 28 at Badlands Sno-park
The obstacles range from natural challenges, such as gullies and large hills, to man-made obstructions like cargo nets, a vertical wall and a water gauntlet.

Kristin Pelzel finishes ahead of men in Saint Patrick’s 5K
Kristin Pelzel did her gender proud in the St. Patrick Church’s Fall Festival 5K footrace run Saturday morning. The young Hudson woman topped the field of 66 runners, completing the 3.1-mile course in 18 minutes, 55 seconds.

Dave Holden of North Hudson was the champion of the annual Croixathlon, held Saturday, June 25 at YMCA Camp St. Croix in Hudson. Last week it was incorrectly reported that Kurt Becker of Afton, Minn., was the overall winner.

Running man proves prowess in Portland
Hudson High School graduate Jason Finch of River Falls put his feet to the street during the Oct. 4 Portland (Ore.) Marathon, pounding out 26.2 miles in just 2 hours, 24 minutes and 13 seconds.
