Just days ahead of a primary election, spokesmen for the incumbent and two challengers for the Wisconsin Supreme Court trade barbs about partisanship. Also, the WDNR says it wants public input on plans to manage the state's panfish population, plus stories about two major industrial fires, snow conditions up north and more.
The Wisconsin Assembly has approved a dress code for its members, and imposed new restrictions on spectators at its meetings. Also, a veterinary medical student has been named 'Fairest of the Fair', a Senator is frustrated with UW's $8 million in overpayment to fired and retired workers, plus more state briefs.
Wisconsin News -- Donald Driver is the 14th champion of “Dancing With the Stars.” The Green Bay Packers’ receiver beat out Katherine Jenkins and William Levy last night on ABC. And the Super Bowl champion adds the Mirror Ball trophy to his collection of honors.
It’s another sign that Brett Favre is becoming a distant memory in Wisconsin. Patti Schroeder of Fremont has removed Favre’s number from her popular red barn along Highway 10-45 in Waupaca County.
Packer fans will get a better view of the game when they’re at Lambeau next season. The team plans to install larger, high-definition video boards on the scoreboards above both end zones, at a cost of up to $14 million.
Wisconsin Sports The Green Bay Packers can clinch a playoff spot by beating the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at Lambeau Field. But they’ll need help, after the New York Giants crushed Washington 45-to-12 Monday night.
Green Bay Packers’ coach Mike McCarthy said Monday he has quote, “zero interest” in bringing in a kicker to replace Mason Crosby. The third-year pro has missed field goals in seven-of-his-last-eight games – and the 34-yarder he missed yesterday made a difference in the Pack’s one-point loss at Pittsburgh.
