Isaac Witty headlines fundraiser for SAFE

The Hudson SAFE Committee is presenting a comedy night at the Hudson High School auditorium on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 7 p.m. Isaac Witty, who has appeared on David Letterman and Comedy Central, will headline the event. Also appearing will be Colleen Justice, Tom Smith, the Hudson High Friday Night Stand-Up Comedians, and emcee Tucker Millett. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.

Mixed media at Galleries, oil painting classes begin

A series of exhibitions featuring a mixed media installation by Mary Bergs, Minneapolis; mixed media printmaking by CathyJean Clark, Neillsville; oil paintings by Tom McGregor, St. Paul; ceramics by Ursula Hargens, Minneapolis; acrylics on panel by Leslie Pilgrim, Mendota Heights, Minn.; journal drawings and watercolors by Tara Sweeney, St. Paul; and a group exhibition featuring work in a range of media by 11 local artists who participated in a series of seminars during 2012 focusing on the role of art and sustainability will be on view through Feb. 10 in The Galleries of The Phipps Center for the Arts.

Talent show Friday, winners will perform with Reed Grimm

Youth Action Hudson’s fifth annual Hudson Youth Have Talent Show is tomorrow, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m. at Hudson High School auditorium. Performers have a chance to win cash prizes of $100 or $50. Along with their cash prizes, this year’s Audience Choice and vocalist winner will perform with American Idol finalist Reed Grimm on Feb. 1, at Hudson High School.

Swan Walk Jan. 12 kicks off Hot Air countdown

Hudson swan enthusiast Barry Wallace will lead a Swan Walk and program as a Hot Air Affair countdown event on Saturday, Jan. 12. The free program starts at 10 a.m. at the Hudson Area Library, then moves down the path through Lakefront Park to watch Wallace feed the hundreds of trumpeter swans that spend the winter in Hudson.
