When a tragedy like a house fire is reported on the Star-Observer Web site, the article comments generally express sympathy for the victims and maybe add a few facts and interesting tidbits. The comments took a different twist, however, after the fire at the Todd and Julie Davies residence in the town of Hudson.
Todd and Julie Davies were awaken by a bang in their garage Thursday night and got out of bed to discover their home on fire, according to Hudson Fire Chief Jim Frye. “It was a very close call,” Frye said.
Two boys using a magnesium stick and a knife to strike sparks started more of a fire than they intended to Thursday afternoon, June 4. The sparks ignited a cluster of cottonwood seeds on a sidewalk next to the Ronald and Marian Sake residence at 1808 Willow Drive.
