By all accounts, the afternoon celebrating Ruth Ladd’s 105th birthday was a success. The party was held a couple of days early, but it meant that her relatives could attend the event, held on Saturday afternoon in the PineRidge community room.
I’ve always been one to celebrate birthdays without much fanfare. Oh, others have made big deals about my birthday, but my attitude has always been something to the effect, “Another year, let’s have some cake and move on!”
Lynn Stock, a town of Troy area farmer, will celebrate his 90th birthday on Aug. 23. He is the last survivor to run the original Stock family farm, which has been farmed continuously by Emil Stock and his descendants since the early 1870s.
