Walter Crawford, director of the World Bird Sanctuary in St. Louis, brought an entourage of owls plus one to the Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center March 7 and 8, presenting four programs to nearly 300 guests.
The University of Minnesota Raptor Center held a public raptor release at Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center on Saturday. The event included the release of eight birds, four in the morning and four in the afternoon, and drew close to 3,000 people to the center.
Area educators will be able to take part in an interactive nature exploration workshop Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the new University of Wisconsin-River Falls University Center on the banks of the Kinnickinnic River.
