A Clean Sweep hazardous waste collection is the first recycling event scheduled during spring and summer. It runs from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at the county highway shop, 666 E. Hwy. 12, Hudson.
County residents only (must have identification) can drop off most household hazardous waste free of charge.
We Hudson-area people have to listen to radio broadcasts and watch television programs exclusively from the Twin Cities. We’re bombarded with commercials from businesses west of the St. Croix River. We follow the Franken/Coleman debates morning, noon and night.
The holidays are long past as is Valentine’s Day – now what to do with the out-of-date hand-held electronics that have been replaced with new ones? Cocker Spaniel Resources Inc. is having a recycling drive to help save the groundwater and landfills.
Cocker Spaniel Resources is a public charity under tax Code 501(c)(3) of the IRS. We are rescue, rehabilitate, rehome and retire cocker spaniels and cocker spaniel mixes for the states of Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota and Missouri.
I just returned from a recycling plant in St. Paul. As a result of recycling about 25 small engines, five large snowblower frames, assorted steel, a pint of copper and a half-pint of brass, I received an $80.96 check for 994 pounds of metal.
