Recently elected to the St. Croix Valley Foundation board of directors were Katrina Larsen, director of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Outreach/Continuing Education Office and Rod Rommel, a retired agricultural lender, also from River Falls.

The River Falls swim team finished fourth at Saturday's Big Rivers Conference meet at Chippewa Falls behind Eau Claire, Hudson and Chippewa Falls and will send 16 swimmers to Saturday's sectional meet at Stevens Point.

It' quite an accomplishment for a school to win one state championship in a year. River Falls won two in one day Saturday.
The St. Croix Valley Fusion won their second straight state girls' hockey title in Madison Saturday afternoon, while the River Falls High School gymnastics team won its second championship in four years at the state meet in Wisconsin Rapids a few hours later.
Both teams will be welcomed back to River Falls with a parade on Main Street Sunday at noon.
A pair of St. Paul men who apparently got waylaid on the tubing trip down the Kinnickinnic River late Sunday, were found by a Minnesota State Patrol helicopter early Monday and led to safety by park rangers.
A Woodbury man, who was exploring a tunnel with a friend along the Mississippi River in St. Paul Sunday morning, died when the tunnel filled with water and swept him into the river, according to St. Paul Fire Department officials.
Here’s the reality of the River Crest boundary line situation. Four subdivisions involved take up only 24 percent of the total student population at River Crest. Simple math will tell us that if we move most of those students out of River Crest and send them to Rock this would raise the Rock population to 97 percent while lowering RiverCrest to 72 percent.
