Tuesday, March 4, was Lobby Day in Madison for a smoke-free Wisconsin. The arena was filled with supporters of all ages, races and areas from Wisconsin. Lance Armstrong gave an uplifting speech encouraging the crowd to use their political voices. Gov. Jim Doyle talked about Minnesota and Illinois going smoke-free and added that Iowa was well on the way to being smoke-free. He is concerned that Wisconsin would be the “ashtray of the Midwest” and the 48th state to become smoke-free.
