Members of the Kinnickinnic Cemetery Association agree that the old graveyard, once known as the Hillside Cemetery, not only provides a final resting place for the dead but also many interesting stories and a special kind of getaway for the living.
The St. Croix County Historical Society’s sixth annual Volunteer Appreciation Tea is scheduled at the River Room of The Phipps Center for the Arts at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 28. The event is open to all past, current and potential volunteers.
Recently more than 55 volunteers, mostly teens, went to work on cold and blustery Saturday to tackle fall cleanup at more than 16 homes. It was a community-wide service project organized by Community Action.
There are many, many wonderful volunteers in our community, but among those high on the list deserving praise are the volunteer firefighters who respond to calls in the Hudson area any time of the day or night.
The St. Croix County Historical Society is hosting its fifth annual Volunteer Appreciation Tea for all past, current and potential volunteers. The tea is in the River Room of The Phipps Center for the Arts Tuesday, April 29, at 1 p.m. and includes scones, sweets and savory sandwiches.
